Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse in Birthing Unit

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients in the birthing unit
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans
• Monitor patients during labor and birth, using received data to act as necessary
• Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during hospital stay

Requirements of the Registered Nurse in Birthing Unit

• BLS, ACLS, NRP certifications
• Recent EFM certification at least intermediate level required
• A minimum of 2 years of circulatory experience in a similar role
