Overview Cash Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring for a Survey Foreman I. The Survey Foreman provides construction layout/survey for the company, directs the survey crew in proper layout, and enforces all company policies, procedures, and safety standards while working efficiently to meet project deadlines. Responsibilities Lead and direct survey crew in the proper layout for construction of roads, pipe work, and mass graded earthworks. Communicate with other foremen, job superintendents, and project management; report issues that may affect the project. Demonstrate advanced understanding of construction layout and use of standard industry equipment (GPS base and rover units and robotic total stations). Be responsible for the status and location of assigned equipment. Lead the crew in grading mass earthwork through staking. Lead layout of project utilities. Set grade in streets using bluetops from subgrade to finish grade; may include lime or Portland cement. Observe grades, identify and correct issues, and report them. Run level loops and set benchmarks to industry standards. Read and interpret project plans. Use time, material, and survey equipment efficiently. Plan work effectively to maximize progress in a safe and timely manner. Promote and adhere to the company's safety program; encourage safety culture among employees and subcontractors. Perform and review safe work plans/hazard assessments with the crew prior to starting work. Collaborate with safety to investigate incidents and ensure proper procedures are followed. Work safely to protect oneself and others; promote a team approach and open communication. Act as a vital team member and provide technical or administrative support as required; collaborate with project teams on other initiatives. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED preferred. Class C driver's license. Minimum 3 years' experience in infrastructure construction. Minimum 2 years as a Foreman or Party Chief with construction layout experience.
