Dragline Operator

Responsibilities & Expectations Safely operating the Manitowoc 4600 stockpiling shot limestone Monitoring machine conditions and noting necessary maintenance requirements Lubricating machine points as required throughout shift Ensuring the dragline is properly inspected prior to shift operation and all conditions noted Maintaining thorough communications with Mine Manager to inform of machine status or conditional changes Maintaining high standards of housekeeping on dragline systems and within the working area of the quarry Recording equipment status on Pre-Shift/Workplace exam forms Following Safe Quality Food guidelines Attending scheduled safety meetings Enforcing all applicable safety policies Maintaining a safe and clean work environment Promoting safety among co‑workers Participating in Behavior Based Safety program Backing up to any qualified position as assigned by supervisor, and being backed up by any qualified team member as assigned by supervisor Performing or assisting with maintenance tasks as required Understanding and working within Safe Quality Food certification requirements Performing other duties as assigned Attributes Problem Solving – uses logic and methods to help solve machine operating problems Communication Skills – clear written and verbal instructions and notes are essential Working Knowledge – must understand the mechanics of the equipment Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on‑call, or work seven days a week, as required by stockpile maintenance Must be able to perform multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet customer needs Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co‑workers Must be a self‑starter with the ability to work independently Must possess basic reading and math skills Must have good written and verbal communication skills Strong record of attendance reliability Safety Oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job Physical Demands Must be physically able to perform work assigned Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations Must have access to all areas within the site, which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels Will work primarily in a covered environment but mainly in a mining environment Exposed to extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust, fumes, and mineral particles Must stand, walk, balance, stoop, kneel, reach, talk, see, hear and sit as required Must be able to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed Required Experience Previous heavy equipment and/or mining experience. Required Education High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Authorization Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
