Required Qualifications:High school diploma or GEDCertified Medical AssistantCompleted a formal Medical Assistant Training Program -or- minimum of three (3) years working as a Medical AssistantBLS Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire) Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience in related clinical setting Duties and Responsibilities:Establishes strong working relationships with providers; while facilitating excellent patient careConsistently exceeds customer service expectations and communicates effectivelyStrong data entry and computer abilities in addition to proficiency; when performing department specific clinical skillsMust be able to perform accurately and quickly in a busy, stressful environment, setting priorities as to dutiesUnderstands and follows policies and proceduresBuilds productive interpersonal relationships in every encounter and demonstrates teamworkActively participates in the departmentEach employee is responsible for implementing SJRMCs Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and StewardshipOther duties as assigned Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:Accepts the risk of exposure to job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health problemsMust be able to see with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance, and differentiate colors accurately (when required)Must be able to sit and walk frequently or for long periods of timeMust be able to stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist routinelyConstant use of the computer and keyboardMust be able to lift greater than 50 pounds and push 0-300 pounds (frequently) Special Demands:Sets limits when dealing with angry, hostile, or sometimes verbally or physically abusive patients and families; in an attempt to ensure a safe, respectful environment that will support the delivery of careEffectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
