Schedule: Hybrid — some days in office with remote flexibility Employment Type: Full-Time Base Salary: $175,000–$225,000, depending on experience Bonus Opportunity: Tiered performance-based bonus in addition to base salary Firm: Baker Law Group About the Role Baker Law Group is seeking an accomplished Senior Civil Litigation Attorney to join our growing Texas litigation team in Austin. This is a full-time, hybrid position for an attorney with 5+ years of meaningful civil litigation experience who can independently manage cases, develop litigation strategy, advise clients, and handle complex matters with limited supervision. Our Texas litigation practice handles a broad range of civil disputes, including business, real estate, construction, contract, employment, defamation, property, and other commercial matters. This role offers significant case ownership and the opportunity to play an important part in the continued development of Baker Law Group’s Texas practice. The successful candidate should be comfortable serving not only as an experienced practitioner, but also as a resource to less-experienced attorneys and legal staff. What You’ll Do The Senior Civil Litigation Attorney will: Independently manage civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution Develop litigation strategy based on client objectives, legal risk, cost, and potential outcomes Draft and review complex pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and substantive legal correspondence Take and defend depositions Manage discovery strategy, document production, experts, and case investigation Represent clients at hearings, mediations, settlement conferences, and other court proceedings Prepare matters for trial and participate meaningfully in trial proceedings Negotiate settlements and advise clients regarding resolution options Maintain direct and consistent communication with clients Manage multiple active matters while maintaining strong deadlines, organization, and work quality Work closely with paralegals and legal support staff to move cases efficiently Review and provide guidance on work prepared by junior attorneys when appropriate Mentor less-experienced attorneys in litigation strategy, drafting, client management, and case preparation Identify case risks and strategic issues before they become problems Collaborate with litigation leadership on significant or complex matters Help strengthen and expand Baker Law Group’s Texas litigation practice Types of Matters The practice may include: Construction and construction-defect matters Business and commercial disputes Contract litigation Partnership and ownership disputes Defamation and reputational claims Landlord-tenant and property disputes Pre-litigation demands and negotiations Candidates do not need experience in every practice area. We are primarily looking for a sophisticated civil litigator who can evaluate unfamiliar issues, develop an effective strategy, and confidently move a matter forward. What We’re Looking For Strong candidates will have: 5 or more years of civil litigation experience Significant experience independently managing litigation matters Meaningful hearing, mediation, and courtroom experience Trial experience strongly preferred Excellent legal research, writing, analysis, and advocacy skills Strong knowledge of civil procedure, discovery, and motion practice Experience developing case strategy rather than simply executing assigned tasks Excellent deadline and caseload-management skills Strong client communication and expectation-management abilities The ability to discuss strategy, cost, risk, and potential outcomes candidly with clients Sound judgment and the ability to operate with limited supervision The ability to mentor and support less-experienced attorneys A collaborative, practical, and low-ego working style Compensation and Benefits The position offers a base salary of $175,000–$225,000 , depending on experience, credentials, and demonstrated litigation ability.
