Role Summary

• Status: Full-Time Permanent

• Hours: ~40+ hours per week

• Location: A hybrid role split between our Redwood City workshop and on-site at various event venues across the Bay Area.

• Schedule: Project-dependent; must be comfortable with flexible hours, including early-morning load-ins, late-night strikes, and weekend event operations.

Key Responsibilities (What You'll Do)

• Vehicle & Truck Driving: Safely drive and maneuver company transport vehicles—including 16’ to 26’ box trucks—between our Redwood City shop, suppliers, and event venues throughout the Bay Area.

• Event Load-In & Strike: Execute efficient on-site setup, assembly, positioning, and teardown (strike) of scenic elements, staging, props, furniture, and production equipment.

• Warehouse & Inventory Logistics: Load, unload, stage, and audit event assets and gear at our warehouse facility, ensuring all cargo is tied down, secured, and safely packed for transit.

• On-Site Field Operations: Work alongside Event Leads, Scenic Artists, and Carpenters during active site builds to assist with heavy lifting, basic assembly, hardware installation, and gear staging.

• Fleet & Equipment Maintenance: Keep warehouse spaces clean, inspect transport gear (straps, ramps, dollies, blankets), and ensure vehicles and production inventory remain organized and in top-notch working order.

Requirements (Must-Haves)

• Truck Driving Experience (CRITICAL): Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record and proven hands-on experience driving larger commercial vehicles (e.g., 16'–26' box trucks, high-roof vans) in tight urban spaces and highways.

• Stagehand & Event Operations Background: Prior experience as a stagehand, event crew member, warehouse handler, or logistics associate in live events, theater, or production setup.

• Physical Stamina: This is a physically demanding role. You must be able to regularly lift 50+ lbs, safely climb ladders, push heavy road cases, and remain active on your feet for full production shifts.

• The Hustle: The event industry moves fast. You must have the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments, adapt on the fly, and consistently hit event load-in deadlines.

• Mobility & Location: Must live in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, with reliable transportation to our Redwood City shop.

• Communication: Clear and proactive communication skills to coordinate effectively with production leads, warehouse managers, and fellow crew members on-site.

Compensation, Benefits, and Perks

• Pay: $25.00 – $30.00 / hour (Commensurate with experience), paid biweekly.

• Benefits: Full-time team members are eligible for our comprehensive health benefits package (employer covers 75% of premiums for Health, Dental, and Vision insurance) after applicable waiting periods.
