Tech - Cytotechnologist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides expert cytology laboratory services by executing pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to support accurate disease diagnosis and patient care. Maintains competency in all cytology practices and ensures timely, precise results.

Responsibilities:

• Perform screening and analysis of up to 80 GYN specimens daily to identify cellular abnormalities.
• Execute complex cytology procedures with attention to quality control and laboratory standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, results, and quality assurance activities.
• Adhere to all safety, licensing, and regulatory guidelines, including ASCP certification and CDPH licensure.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely reporting of findings.
• Complete required training modules during orientation and stay current with industry developments.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Possess active ASCP certification as a Cytologist (CT).
• Maintain valid California Department of Public Health Cytotechnologist licensure (CLM/CTT).
• Have at least 2 years of relevant cytology laboratory experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory procedures, specimen screening, and documentation.
• Be willing to work a day shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) with full compliance in onboarding and documentation.
