Paramedic

Shift - 24hr, one shift on, one shift off, one shift on then 5 days off. This rotation has a "short week about every 6th and 8th week where they would only work one 24hr shift.
Call - there is no "on-call" however at this time there are a number of open shifts that would allow for extra shift pick up
Job Duties - on post in the hospital from 0700-2200hrs then at rest from 2200-0600hrs. During rest the staff member would need to ready to respond to any call via 911 or from the hospital. Rest space is available in a building next door to the hospital. The Paramedic (EMT-P) will carry out all directives given to him/her by the EMS Coordinator and by the Medical Director. He/she will ensure that optimal emergency medical services are rendered to the City of Sundance and in the areas of Crook County for which the service is responsible.
§ Operates and maintains ambulances in accordance with Wyoming state laws and Sundance EMS policy and procedures.
§ Assists in patient care in accordance with Crook County Medical Services District (CCMSD) EMS policy and procedure.
§ Effectively and actively assesses his/her abilities and requests assistance as necessary for safe patient care.
§ Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
§ Have and maintain a current National Registry EMT-P and WY-EMS license or have a license from a compact state.
§ ICS 100, 200 and 700 certified within 30 days of employment.
§ Current BLS, ACLS and PALS
§ Have and maintain a trauma certificate at least one of the following: PHTLS, TNCC, ATLS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
§ Excellent patient care skills.
§ Professional and discrete manner at all times.
§ Ability to communicate effectively and verbally as well as the ability to follow verbal and written instructions
-LifePac 15, Hamilton T-1, ImageTrend and Cerner charting systems, to name a few of the systems they would be using.
Annual/ Biannual Education and Competency
• OSHA
• Approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (CEVO 4 or 5 and or EVOC both within the last 2 year)
• Medicine/ Equipment/ Vehicle Operations
