Clinical Applications Specialist - Radiation Therapist (Traveling position)

Job Summary Provides clinical training and support to customers as a subject matter expert in radiation therapy, on‑site and/or remotely, to ensure customers are prepared to operate equipment safely and effectively and fully utilize technology for their business needs. Responsibilities Provide clinical applications training to customers on site and remotely to ensure they can safely operate Varian Medical System equipment. Assist in managing the customer’s clinical expectations. Provide competitive product performance information to headquarters, marketing, or engineering groups. Coordinate or lead customer and/or employee training courses. Conduct large group presentations at seminars, training programs, and trade shows. Provide demo support at local, regional, and national customer trade events. Develop complementary support training materials such as quick tips, workbooks, videos, and implementation guides. Work with cross‑functional teams to support and enable best services and optimize customer relations. Use full access to client sites for oncology systems business; meet Vendor Credentialing requirements and maintain access throughout employment. Maintain formal customer training support documents and oversee training for new product releases. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Certified Radiation Therapist (ARRT) required. Clinical understanding of processes in a medical and/or radiation oncology department. Travel required up to 75-100% including intermittent weekends. Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills. Adaptable, positive, and open to new ideas and situations. Highly motivated self‑starter who takes initiative. Eager to learn and quickly assimilate new concepts. Completed LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility. Meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements for client site access (valid ID, background check, drug screen, immunizations, annual TB testing, healthcare trainings). Proficiency with remote training tools (e.g., Smart Connect, virtual classroom) and business tools such as Microsoft Office, SalesForce, ServiceMax, QlikView, and LMS. Experience leading training sessions for 20-30% of Varian products. Background in mentoring Clinical Training Specialists I and II. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; minimum 2-3 years clinical experience or 3 years in similar position; enrollment in Varian approved Development Program preferred. Valid U.S. or Canadian driver’s license and ability to travel into Canada; must meet Canadian Border Services requirements. Residency in West region (California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Hawaii). Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $107,060 – $147,213, adjusted by geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. Commission eligibility, if applicable, follows company plan.
