Medical Office Assistant (MCP)

Responsibilities Provide constant and efficient operations of the physician medical office, including scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections. Coordinate and participate in daily clinic preparation, patient identification, check‑in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling. Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation, and referrals management. Monitor the clinic appointment line and schedule appointments for clients from outside medical, hospital, and correctional systems. Answer multi‑line telephones and take payments from clients for clinical services. Complete client registration and documentation, and schedule interpreters for clients. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of patient‑care experience in a healthcare facility, or Certified Nursing Assistant, or completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution, or EMT/Paramedic certification, or a Bachelor’s degree. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from floor to 36” unassisted; lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs.; exert up to 50 lbs. of force as needed. Maintain 20/40 vision (corrected); hearing acuity (corrected); gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements; manage stressful situations. Work rotating shifts, overtime, latex safe environment, tactile sensory functions, olfactory sensory function, respirator qualification initially and as required.
