On-Call Transfer Driver (Tampa, FL)

This role operates on an on-call, as-needed basis during standard business hours. Drivers must be available, reachable by phone, and prepared to report to the designated location with short notice when assignments are scheduled.

Work is not guaranteed each day, and hours will fluctuate based on business demand. Flexibility and responsiveness are essential to succeed in this role.

Transfer Driver Primary Responsibilities:

• Fill in receipt and intake paperwork electronically.
• Transport U-Haul equipment between U-Haul centers, dealerships and the repair shop.
• Perform visual inspections of equipment.
• Maintain a driver log.
• Team Members are expected to willingly lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the directives and guidance of their supervisor.

Transfer Driver Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license
• Able to use mobile transfer programs
• D.O.T. certification if requiredcan be sponsored by U-Haul

Work Environment:

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields.

Physical Demands:

The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs. assisted or unassisted.
