Powder Coat Technician

The Powder Coat Technician will use powder coat techniques on various materials. Material preparation such as sand blasting, cleaning, dipping, masking, among other techniques is required.ResponsibilitiesPrepare parts for coatingFollow all principles and practices of powder coating applicationOperate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers, and booth collection systemsObserve machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defectsDetermine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometersBake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitationsKnowledge of thermosetting resin coatings, wash, and pretreatmentsEnsure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality and customer order on-time performanceEnsure quality standards and processes are used throughout facilityEnsure safety guidelines are being met to assure a safe work environmentLoad and unload parts or product onto fixturesGood knowledge of the mechanics and repair of painting equipmentProper cleaning and maintenance of equipmentStrong attention to detailAble to work in a fast pace environmentDemonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervisionWork 50+ hour weeks; to meet the needs of the customer s occasional overtime may be required.
