Every employee contributes to the success of the company and you can be part of that team.Job SummaryPart of the Global IT team, the Senior System Administrator is an IT expert and professional, responsible for setting up and maintaining IT systems, servers and infrastructure, based in Lexington, MA, but working across all locations. As System Administrator, you maintain the accessibility and uptime of GxP and corporate IT systems and services and are responsible for implementation and support of the Enterprise Systems and Laboratory Computer Systems. You ensure that all IT services are maintained to a high standard and provide day to day support as required. You ensure that all incidents are properly addressed and make recommendations for improving the company's IT systems. You configure a resilient and secure IT architecture compliant to regulations and company policies, to ensure the success of the business.You initiate and execute IT Projects based on the overall IT strategy and priorities and work with IT staff, internal customers, vendors, service partners, auditors and other stakeholders to ensure the right solutions are delivered, leading to better collaboration and tighter feedback loops across teams globally.This role is expected to be on-site at our Indiana location.Essential Job FunctionsResponsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network devices, and virtualization in all facilities systemsResponsible for system security, software updates, and change control proceduresResponsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performanceInstall and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes per Computer System Validation SOPs and protocolsEnsure that the IT environment is compliant to relevant regulatory and quality requirements.Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover proceduresTroubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issuesProvide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructureLead helpdesk support efforts, making sure desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptionsProvide support to colleagues in both Lexington and Fishers facilitiesParticipate in internal audits and audits by external groupsCommunicate to vendors, support-companies and third partiesCustomer Service oriented with attention to detail and qualityReliable, consistent, and proactiveAbility to address multiple projects and adapt to changing prioritiesSelf-motivated and passionate to learn and adopt new technology and methodologiesCapable of day-to-day problem solving and taking responsibility for decisionsExperienced in resolving multi-disciplinary multifunctional process problemsCan work independently, ability to manage own workloadAble to adapt focus to changing prioritiesTeam-oriented and generous in sharing knowledge and enabling othersProcess improvementGood administration skillsExperience in a multi-cultural international organization is preferredExperience with working in a commercial organizationSpecial Job FunctionsAdaptability required as work schedule may change based on business needsCriminal background check requiredOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceEducation Level – Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or closely related field, or equivalent experience required - EssentialOn-the-Job Experience7+ years of experience supporting IT infrastructure - EssentialExperience in implementing Controlled Change and Patch Management of GxP systems a plus - EssentialSystem administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus - EssentialSkills / AbilitiesExcellent computer, verbal, and written communication skills - EssentialWorking knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent (Hyper-V, IAAS Azure, AWS) - EssentialStrong knowledge of cloud, systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols. - EssentialExperience with scripting and automation tools (e.g. PowerShell) - EssentialA proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans - EssentialStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols including experience with Veeam backup Software - EssentialAble to execute and report on IT led projects - EssentialPay Range: The annual salary range for this position is $140,000-$165,000.Physical DemandsWork EnvironmentRegularly sit for long periods of time.MovementFrequently required to stand;
