Multi-Site Registered Behavior Technician School Year*

Multi-Site Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)The Registered Behavior Technician will be responsible for serving the Julie Billiart Network School campuses located in Brecksville & Westlake. This position reports to the Chief Schools Officer and the individual in this role will be required to travel between campuses as needed.Julie Billiart Schools is a network of schools serving children grades K-8 with special learning challenges. Currently we have campuses in Akron, Brecksville, Lyndhurst and Westlake that offer unique learning environments for students with autism, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia and social learning challenges. We are Catholic, non-public schools, that respect diverse faith traditions.The primary function of the Registered Behavior Technician is to provide behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Other Health Impairments and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The Registered Behavior Technician will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement behavior support plans for students that require consistent and behavioral support during the school day.The following is a list of primary duties and responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations can be made to employees with qualified disabilities who can perform the essential functions of the job, so long as there is no undue hardship created upon the organization or other employees within the organization.Provides assistance to behavioral therapists in developing behavioral therapy programsAssess student needs and provide interventions to redirect behaviorCollect and submit data needed for Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP)Maintain highly organized, consistent, thorough, and systematic recordkeeping practicesProvide consultation, training, and assistance to instructional team members in strategies and methodologies for working with students who have behavioral, adaptive, and or social/communication challengesConduct in-service training, workshops, and presentations to develop skills and establish consistent practices throughout the students' school experienceWhen required, provide physical intervention for students demonstrating unsafe behaviorsParticipate in yearly crisis intervention training provided by Julie Billiart SchoolsSeek creative options for ensuring continuity and consistency of treatment and support services across settingsConduct structured periodic service reviews to monitor the effectiveness of treatment programs and their implementation; modify and document plan changes as needed.Collaborate with families as appropriateParticipates in continuing education and professional development and other training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to the assignment.Reviews current developments, changing legal requirements, and technical sources of information related to job responsibility.Participate in professional growth activities such as team meetings and program visitations.Performs other tasks and duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Chief Academic Officer.RequirementsEducation RequiredMinimum of high school diploma as well as formal training in Behavioral Support InterventionsMust have obtained or be in process of obtaining Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certificationExperienceA minimum of two years recent experience working with individuals who have behavioral and social/communication challengesKnowledge of early childhood and autism assessment tools and procedures and thorough knowledge of child developmentExperience developing positive behavior support plans and programs; experience teaching social interaction and play skillsKnowledge of current methods and techniques of applied behavior analysis and discrete trial training; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with students, parents and professionals; competence in analyzing assessment results, designing appropriate individual treatment plans and behavioral programs, and monitoring progressMust be able to work effectively as a team member, demonstrate flexibility and desire to learn new skills and improve professional qualificationsQualifications RequiredSkills and abilities:Strong communication skills to work with a diverse team.Basic computer skills and ability to use required software.Ability to problem-solve and assist in decision making, including during emergencies.Ability to follow and practice policies related to proper procedures for restraint and seclusion.Work productively to develop relationships with students, families and other support personnel.Proven creative abilities, strong organizational and time management skills.Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.Maintain a high level of organization for file maintenance and record-keeping.Belief and commitment to the JB way and mission and to embracing the Sisters of Notre Dame's philosophies and teachingsWorking ConditionsThe work of the Registered Behavior Technician requires movement to a variety of locations within the school.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
