Manual Labor Xenia, OH, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 2119 Job Title: Assembler Department: New and/or Repair Location: Xenia, Ohio Reports To: Plant Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Position Overview: The Assembler is responsible for building and assembling hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders in accordance with engineering specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. This position involves hands‑on assembly of components, including seals, pistons, rods, and tubes, as well as inspection and testing to ensure proper function and durability. The Assembler will work closely with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements, maintain efficiency, and ensure a safe, organized work environment. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to producing high‑quality products are essential to success in this role. Essential Duties: (Additional duties may be assigned as required.) Assemble hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders according to blueprints, work instructions, and specifications. Install seals, pistons, rods, end caps, and other cylinder components with accuracy and efficiency. Inspect parts for defects, proper fit, and quality prior to and during assembly. Perform pressure and functional testing of completed cylinders to verify performance and safety standards. Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, etc.) during assembly. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. Communicate issues with parts, materials, or equipment to supervisors or quality control staff. Assist with continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent Able to prioritize jobs Able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week Mechanical background Ability to read basic blueprints Able to read a tape measure and calipers Prior heavy assembly experience is a plus Ability to lift 50 lbs. Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
