Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (06:30 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 1 year required; First timers accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Circulate and scrub experience required Description: Minimum experience is 1 year. First timers are accepted. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. The main operating room includes specialties such as general, neuro, spine, ortho, robotics, urology, vascular, and colorectal. Experience in circulating and scrubbing is required. The average daily census is 35 with 16 rooms available. The unit utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and 2 Da Vinci XI Robots. Scrub color will be provided by the facility. The maximum allowed request for time off is 7 days. Blackout dates for requests are during Spring Break. Staff may be required to work 2 to 3 weekends on an 8-week schedule, either in-house or on call. Floating is rare but may occur within the scope of practice. Call requirements include 7 to 8 calls in a typical 8-week schedule, with 1 weekend call and additional weekday night calls. If one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. Two of the following major holidays must be worked if two holidays occur during the assignment: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year. Full compliance is required to start on time. Candidates will be pre-screened clinically to determine fit. If compliant and within guidelines, candidates will be sent for final decision. Locals are accepted at the same rate.
