J ob Store Staffing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll and Leave Specialist to join our client's human resources and finance team. The Payroll and Leave Specialist role is essential in managing payroll processing, leave administration, and ensuring compliance with employment and labor laws. The successful candidate will oversee payroll systems, maintain accurate employee records, and support the organization’s commitment to timely and precise compensation management. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic environment where accuracy, confidentiality, and efficiency are paramount. This role will be supporting our client in the higher education.

Location: Downtown Denver, full-time onsite

\n

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

\n

Pay: $20-25/hr

\n

Duration: 6 month contract

\n

Payroll/Leave Coordinator Duties

\n

\n
• Manage payroll processing using systems such as Workday, ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
\n
• Administer employee leave programs, including vacation, sick leave, and other time-off policies, utilizing time & attendance systems like Kronos or similar platforms.
\n
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and labor regulations related to payroll and leave administration.
\n
• Reconcile payroll data with accounting software such as QuickBooks or general ledger systems; perform account reconciliations regularly.
\n
• Maintain confidential employee records related to compensation, benefits, and leave balances with integrity.
\n
• Prepare payroll reports for management review and assist in audits related to payroll tax and labor law compliance.
\n
• Support HRIS (Human Resource Information System) updates and data entry tasks related to payroll and employee information.
\n
• Assist with year-end tax filings, payroll tax calculations, and remittances in accordance with applicable laws.
\n
• Collaborate with finance teams on accounts payable processes involving payroll-related expenses.
\n
• Analyze payroll data for discrepancies or errors; implement process improvements for efficiency.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

• High level of confidentiality handling sensitive information related to compensation and employee records.
\n
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; proficiency in spreadsheets and data entry tasks such as 10-key typing.
