This is a non-travel permanent position located in Livermore, CA. Join the nation's largest infrastructure developer as a Wind Technician at NextEra Energy. As a Wind Technician, you will be the critical front line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm operations. You will primarily focus on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance, diagnostics, and long-term reliability and profitability. Implement Operating Safety Policy Instructions, conduct fieldwork in compliance with OSHA regulations, encourage good employee safety practices, and drive an unparalleled employee safety culture. Participate in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects. Recruit and develop other technicians for the ongoing development of the team. Support site manager for all phases of timely safety and environmental reporting, financial reporting, and turbine availability. Collate closely with internal NextEra users to develop and present operation-focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance. Present a positive professional representation of NextEra Energy in the community and with the customer. Employees in this role perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wind turbines and other associated equipment. Individuals understand the mechanics, including both electrical and hydraulics, of all wind turbine components. This position involves replacing mechanical and electrical components, understanding schematics, and using appropriate diagnostic tools. The successful candidate interprets fault reports, maintains power generation reports and service logs in the computer database, and monitors turbine performance and SCADA systems. Job Duties & Responsibilities Perform regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment. Complete electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting. Maintain all company supplied equipment, facilities and tooling. Apply basic understanding of the technical and process functions. Manage own training schedules and meet all training requirements within designated time frames. Able to meet attendance requirements. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Graduate / GED. Experience: 0+ years. Valid Driver's License (NON CDL). Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet. Post-Offer Functional Capacity Evaluation. Preferred Qualifications Associate’s Degree. The estimated base pay for this position is $51,200.00 to $76,800.00 per year. Starting pay will be based on several factors, including experience, qualifications, job-related and industry knowledge and skills and education/training.
