Key Responsibilities of the Occupational Therapist

• Evaluate new patients, set measurable goals, and document treatment plans
• Administer diagnostic tests to assess patient impairments and prognoses
• Perform treatments, fabricate adaptive equipment, and adjust therapy techniques
• Provide documentation of patient care, education, and communication
• Effectively communicate with healthcare personnel on patient progress and planning
• Instruct patients and families in therapeutic procedures
• Maintain therapy equipment and supplies, processing purchase requests
• Guide Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, Aides, and students
• Adhere to policies and quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in clinical instruction and professional development opportunities
• Maintain records of patient activity and charges
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements of the Occupational Therapist

• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• Current BLS certification
