Essential Duties and Responsibilities Patient Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive physical examinations to assess patients’ physical conditions, functional capabilities, and limitations. Craft individualized treatment plans based on assessment outcomes, patient aspirations, and established best practices. Employ diagnostic tools such as gait analysis, range of motion assessments, and muscle testing to steer treatment planning. Examine patient medical histories and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care. Therapeutic Interventions: Administer therapeutic exercises and techniques designed to alleviate pain, boost mobility, and strengthen muscles. Utilize manual therapy techniques, such as joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and therapeutic massage. Develop and oversee exercise programs tailored to individual patient needs and progress. Educate patients on the proper use of assistive devices and ergonomic adjustments for their home and workplace. Patient Education and Support: Provide valuable education to patients and their families regarding physical therapy procedures, exercises, and condition management strategies. Offer advice on lifestyle changes, injury prevention, and pain management techniques. Encourage patient engagement and commitment to treatment plans through motivational support and positive reinforcement. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain precise and current patient records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes. Prepare detailed reports for referring physicians, insurance providers, and other healthcare personnel as required. Ensure compliance with legal standards and organizational policies throughout all documentation and reporting efforts. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team—comprising physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to streamline patient care. Engage in team meetings, case discussions, and patient care reviews to support comprehensive treatment planning. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers to address inquiries and provide constant support during the treatment journey. Equipment and Facility Management: Ensure the proper use, maintenance, and sanitation of therapy equipment and treatment spaces. Monitor inventory levels of supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary to maintain adequate stock. Follow safety protocols and infection control measures to ensure a safe and sanitary treatment environment. Continuous Improvement and Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements in physical therapy techniques, technology, and best practices through ongoing education and training. Participate in professional growth opportunities, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and share insights with colleagues to elevate practice standards. General Responsibilities: Adhere to ethical and professional standards in all interactions and treatment activities. Perform additional related duties as assigned by supervisors. Support clinic operations by assisting with administrative tasks and front-desk activities when needed. Qualifications Physical Therapy degree from an accredited program. State licensure as a Physical Therapist. Demonstrated experience in a clinical environment, preferably with a diverse patient base. Proficiency in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques utilized in physical therapy. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Aptitude to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
