The ideal candidate will have experience teaching the North Carolina State Standards for a High School Social Studies Teacher, and feels competent to teach in a diverse and ever changing learning environment. Position Details Full-time, 10-month (August‑May) Position: High School Social Studies Teacher Available: August 3, 2026 Reports to: Principal Qualifications Certification: NC Teacher Certification in the subject area and relevant grades Experience: Demonstrated ability to teach high school with a passion for and competency in the appropriate subject area; experience in teaching high school Social Studies Environment: Demonstrated ability to build a warm and inclusive classroom environment, implement positive behavior practices, and build strong relationships with students and families to support student success Curriculum: Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate rigorous and engaging lessons aligned to the content standards outlined in the NC Standard Course of Study Whole Girl: Awareness of educational issues regarding the academic and social development of a diverse population of students, including minority and socioeconomically disadvantaged adolescent girls from high needs neighborhoods/communities.
