Job Duties Assist the physician with adult and pediatric cardiac catheterizations including transluminal coronary angioplasty and stenting, rotational atherectomy, temporary pacemaker insertion, pericardiocentesis, myocardial biopsy, Swan‑Ganz catheter insertion, mechanical circulatory support (ECMO, Impella, Protek Duo), percutaneous valvuloplasty, percutaneous valve implantation/repair, peripheral vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Practice sterile technique preparing for procedures: scrubbing, applying surgical gown, gloving, draping and setting up instrument table. Provide direct patient care during procedures and manage hemostasis during and post‑procedure. Ensure correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared, and that clinical history is corroborated and documented while respecting confidentiality. Utilize appropriate imaging protocol and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA. Prepare and/or administer medications through new or existing vascular access sites as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. Evaluate images for proper positioning and quality; verify archival storage and/or transfer of data and post‑processing as needed. Educate and monitor students and other health‑care providers. Assist licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized interventional cardiology procedures. Record, monitor, and assess hemodynamic data collected during procedures. Maintain intra‑arterial access as prescribed. Pan the procedure table during image production. Perform manual hemostasis during and after procedures. Operate and ensure quality control of hemodynamic recording devices, cardiac stimulator, oxygen consumption equipment, and blood analysis equipment. Maintain and remove peripherally inserted central catheters as prescribed. Initiate ACLS protocols as required for cardiac roles. Participate in ongoing clinical research trials pertinent to the electrophysiology laboratory. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or allied health program. RCIS certification required within 3 years of employment. BLS, ACLS, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support certifications required within 6 months of hire (Pediatric Advanced Life Support only for GMC campus). Preferred Qualifications Radiologic technologist with active ARRT certification. Respiratory therapist with at least two years of experience. Certified surgical technologist with at least two years of experience. Position Details Shifts: Monday – Friday, 7 or 7:30 am start times, 8‑hour shifts. Education Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (preferred). Graduate from Specialty Training Program – Healthcare Related Degree (required). Experience Minimum 1 year of related work experience (preferred). Certifications ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months – American Heart Association (AHA). BLS certification within 6 months – ASHA/AHA (default issuing body). RCIS within 3 years – Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
