Shift Manager

This position is accountable for the profitable operation of a specific shift designated by the General Manager while adhering to all company guidelines and regulations. The person in this role may be the only management person on duty for a full or partial shift or may work with the General Manager, Shift Manager, or other Shift Leaders. Benefits Competitive hourly wages No late night hours Free meals on days scheduled to work, 25% off all other times Flexible hours Friendly, team-oriented environment Excellent growth opportunities Responsibilities Ensure the restaurant is in full compliance with all local, state, federal regulations including health regulations, hour and wage regulations, age restrictions, fair employment practices, ADA, OSHA, and other appropriate regulations required for legal operation. Ensure knowledge, adherence, and enforcement of all Firehouse Subs® Policies and Procedures. Provide leadership to the restaurant team to consistently meet standards of superior guest service, quality, and cleanliness while embracing the Firehouse Subs® “culture” of a cheerful and fun work environment and Firehouse Subs® beliefs and values to adhere to and grow the mission and vision. Ensure profitability of the business by operating within established guidelines and requirements for food cost, labor, controllable, utilities and sales growth. Assist the GM in coordinating and implementation of current operations game plans and company initiatives in a profitable and timely manner. Assist with proper staffing of the restaurant with qualified personnel and employees who are trained and developed properly. Provide continuous training and development of the restaurant staff. Promote all Public Safety Foundation initiatives. Ensure all required programs, reports, and legal documents are accurate, complete and accomplished on schedule. Maintain awareness and participation in community affairs to take advantage of sales and public relations opportunities. Represent Firehouse Subs® in a professional, positive manner at all times. Communicate effectively to the General Manager any and all issues that may impact the business. Assist in maintaining restaurant equipment in full working order and communicate problems immediately via repair and maintenance request forms; critical issues should be reported to the General Manager. Able to work on their feet for up to 10 hours at a time. Able to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height. Any other duties assigned by GM, Operations Manager, HR Manager or Owner. Ensuring Daily Workflow is always up to date. Verifying store cash funds daily; reporting any large discrepancies (>20.00) immediately to Office. May assist with staff scheduling. May assist with interviews and recommend hires for the store. May assist with training of new team members and recently promoted shift leaders. May assist with weekly and monthly inventory at close of business on Sunday night. Completing “Red Book” Daily and “Green Sheet” Weekly. Handles compliance on COVID-19 health checks, policies and procedures. May assist with ordering all product for the store. Qualifications Must be available to work in-store 20-40 hours per week with a minimum of 2 nights per week and weekends, and must be available to work all days of the week that the store is open for business. Must be able to pass the Shift Leader Written Entrance Exam with at least an 85% grade. Must pass all practical exams including all positions, Prep and Slicing to include being able to write accurate prep and slicing lists and must be able to complete each of those tasks before 10:30am.
