Junior SQL Database Administrator

The Junior SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) is a motivated and detail-oriented role in our IT Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will assist in the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of Microsoft SQL Server databases while gaining experience with Oracle database environments. This role will work closely with the Director of IT, application teams, and system engineers to ensure database performance, availability, security, and reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to build a career in database administration and enterprise data management. * Monitor and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in development, test, and production environments.* Perform routine database administration within Microsoft SQL Server - tasks including backups, restores, integrity checks, and index maintenance.* Assist with Microsoft SQL Server database provisioning, configuration, and patch management.* Monitor Microsoft SQL Server database performance and help identify bottlenecks or optimization opportunities.* Troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server database connectivity and performance issues.* Assist with Microsoft SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and deployments.* Maintain Microsoft SQL Server database security, permissions, and role-based access controls.* Assist with administration and monitoring of Oracle Database environments.* Support Oracle backup and recovery operations using RMAN.* Help monitor Oracle database health, performance, and storage utilization.* Participate in Oracle patching and upgrade activities.* Support Oracle user account management and security administration.* Other duties as assigned**What you bring to the table:*** 2 Years Experience with SQL Server Databases* Basic understanding of relational database concepts and database architecture.* Familiarity with Oracle Databases.* Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux environments. **Education**:* High school diploma or equivalent***We're Proud to Offer a Comprehensive Benefits Package Including:**** 401k retirement plan, with employer match* Insurance options including: medical, dental, vision, life and STD insurance* Paid Time Off/Vacation: Starting at 80 hours per year, and increases based on tenure with the organization* Floating Holiday: 40 hours per year* Paid Holidays: 7 days per year* Paid Sick Leave: Astound allows a number of paid sick hours per calendar year and varies based on state and/or local laws* Tuition reimbursement program* Employee discount program\\*Benefits listed above are for regular full-time position**Base Compensation:** The base compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 plus opportunities for benefits.
