Reference Librarian (PT)

The College is looking for exceptional colleagues to join the MVCC community. We are currently seeking a Reference Librarian for the Utica Campus Library. Key Responsibilities For This Position Include Provides general reference services in person and online; Provides excellent customer service: welcome patrons, enforce library policies, assist in opening and closing the library as needed; Conducts instructional sessions as part of the library’s information literacy program; Provides computer-related assistance to patrons in library lab areas; Assists with the creation of research guides and online tutorials in support of library instruction and other library services; Oversees library facilities and ensure smooth operations at assigned campus location; Contributes to special projects as assigned; Other duties as assigned by the Director of College Libraries Work Schedule Possible shifts include Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm-9:00pm; Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm; and Sunday, 2:00pm-7:00pm. This is an academic-year position, working during the Fall and Spring semesters. Hours per week 10 - 20 Qualifications Required Qualifications Master’s degree from an American Library Association (ALA)-accredited program, or anticipated completion by December 2026 Service-oriented, reliable, and flexible Excellent customer service skills Ability to work independently Preferred Qualifications Academic library experience, knowledge of emerging technologies, and experience working with a diverse population Additional Information Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
