Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Hours per Week: 35

Candidate Pay Rate: $48 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans designed by licensed Physical Therapists to help patients regain mobility and function
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve strength, balance, and coordination
  • Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting interventions as needed in collaboration with the therapy team
  • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies
  • Operate and maintain therapy equipment to ensure safe and effective use
  • Contribute to a positive, healing environment by communicating compassionately with patients and colleagues

Qualifications

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant license in Massachusetts (or compact license eligible)
  • Graduate of an accredited PTA program
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association
  • At least 1 year of experience as a PTA in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Passion for helping others and making a real difference in their recovery journey

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of therapeutic exercises, modalities, and gait training techniques
  • Ability to document accurately using electronic medical records
  • Time management skills to handle a varied caseload efficiently
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing patient needs and facility protocols
  • Understanding of infection control and safety standards
