Join us.Job DescriptionWe are seeking professional Area Superintendents for our ongoing project at Chicago's O'Hare airport.Join us, build the world!Assists the project Superintendent and/or Project Manager by providing on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.Responsible for the organization and direction of construction activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.Responsible for and ensures project safety compliance. May coordinate with client representatives on jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.Responsibilities are to ensure assigned jobsite operations are in compliance with design/specifications and to quality standards.Interfaces with other administrative field staff, field management staff and particularly the Senior Superintendent and Project Manager in a coordinated effort.About Construction Management – AECOM HuntFounded in 1944 in Indianapolis, Indiana, AECOM Hunt has been building for over 80 years. From iconic stadiums and arenas, next-gen transportation hubs and sustainable healthcare and academic buildings, AECOM Hunt’s expertise, leadership and dedication are unparalleled.QualificationsMinimum Requirements:BS Engineering/Construction Management and 4 years of relevant construction experience or AA/AS and 6 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Valid US Drivers License.Preferred QualificationsAirport construction experience.Strong understanding of systems, and phased construction in an operational airport environment.Prior experience in construction compliance, scheduling, sequencing, etc. Proficiency in construction documentation, change order management, RFI, RFP, etc.OSHA safety certification (OSHA 10, 30).Physical Demands:The following physical demands represent those typically required of individuals working in construction field roles, with or without accommodation. Construction field positions require physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and move through various terrain and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. Lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted may be necessary on an occasional basis.Work Environment:Individuals in construction field roles work primarily on active job sites where exposure to environmental and job-related hazards is common, with or without accommodation. These environments may include proximity to heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels may vary from moderate to high depending on the phase of construction. Employees may be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and must remain alert to ensure safety.
