Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Respiratory Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Phoebe Putney.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Critical care experience required. 300+ bed hospital experience required. Must have intubation experience and be comfortable intubating patients. Floor assignments require a minimum of 1 year of experience; critical care assignments require a minimum of 2 years. Must be able to work adult ICU and work vents. Must feel confident making suggestions for vent management, reading ABGs, and alerting critical values.

Required Credentials: NRP required for NICU assignments.

Special Requests: Strict 75-mile radius rule.

Unit Details: Uses Meditech. Average 550 treatment minutes per shift, about 15 minutes per treatment, with 13-15 patients per shift. May run charge and serve as clinical coordinator. Uses Servo U and I vents. Adult assignment may include pediatric through adult patients; NICU respiratory therapists are separate from adult coverage. Duties include nebulizer treatments, airway management, Vapotherm, BiPAP, CPAP, vent management, ABG collection, bedside PFTs, CPT, and in ICU RTs manage blood gases, intubate, and assist with bronchoscopies. Common patient populations include COPD, CHF, pneumonia, respiratory failure, ARDS, and cancer. ICU assignments may have up to 4 airways per therapist.

Shift & Scheduling: Every third weekend. Every other holiday can be expected. No call. On-time arrival requires clock-in between 638 and 646 for scheduled shifts.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months
