Forklift Operator / Material Handler

Pay Rate: $18.34/hr
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM
Shift: 3rd Shift / Overnight
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1–3 years of previous experience

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Forklift Operator / Material Handler to safely operate powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for loading, moving, transporting, and positioning materials and products using forklifts and other equipment equipped with lifting devices.

The ideal candidate has previous forklift or powered industrial truck experience, follows safety procedures consistently, and can efficiently move materials while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate gasoline, diesel, electric, and/or propane-powered industrial trucks to move materials and products.
• Operate forklifts equipped with various lifting devices, including forklift attachments, elevating platforms, or buckets , as applicable.
• Load, unload, lift, move, transport, and position materials throughout the warehouse or facility.
• Inspect equipment before use and report any safety concerns, damage, or mechanical issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Follow established procedures for the safe operation of powered industrial trucks and material-handling equipment .
• Ensure materials are moved and positioned accurately to support warehouse and production operations.
• Maintain awareness of pedestrians, equipment, materials, and surrounding work areas while operating powered equipment.
• Follow all applicable warehouse, manufacturing, safety, and PPE requirements .
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding material movement and equipment concerns.
• Perform routine material-handling tasks while maintaining productivity and accuracy.
• Assist with general warehouse and material-handling activities as needed.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and established operating procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of previous relevant experience required.
• Previous experience operating a forklift or powered industrial truck strongly preferred.
• Experience operating gasoline, diesel, electric, or propane-powered equipment is a plus.
• Ability to safely load, move, lift, and position materials.
• Strong awareness of workplace safety and proper equipment operation.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work an overnight/3rd shift schedule .
