Respiratory Therapist - RRT

Location: 100 Grand Street, New Britain (10126). Shift: every third weekend and every third holiday. The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute‑care community teaching hospital that provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by a team of leading professionals, we care for patients from birth through the end of life. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to patients with minimal guidance. Perform therapy, management, rehabilitation, diagnostic evaluation, and care of patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and related system abnormalities. Administer oxygen and other medical gases, aerosolized medications, positive‑pressure breathing devices, ventilators, and resuscitation devices. Conduct pulmonary diagnostic procedures and assessments. Apply growth and development principles to assess individual age‑specific needs and deliver personalized treatments. Operate efficiently across clinical and critical‑care settings, ensuring quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration with the health‑care team. Participate in ongoing training and certification courses to develop expertise in specialized clinical areas. Qualifications Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred from an AMA‑approved respiratory program. Ability to function as a self‑directed team member. Must hold a Connecticut state respiratory therapist license.
