Job Title

Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (12-Hour Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Expected weekend rotation of at least 2 weekends per month (subject to change based on unit needs); weekend nights defined as Friday and Saturday

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an intermediate care/PCU/stepdown setting serving a diverse patient population including general medical, cardiac, and oncology diagnoses
• Perform and manage trach care, chest tube management, TR band monitoring, central line maintenance, and post-cath lab care including q15-minute checks on fresh cath patients (no sheaths, no art lines)
• Accurately read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms; care for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen
• Safely manage and titrate drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Care for a high volume of post-cath lab procedure patients including stent placements and TR band management; familiarity with these procedures is required
• Deliver compassionate, culturally sensitive care to a high-volume Spanish-speaking population (approximately 30%) and a significant underserved/charity care population

Required Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of PCU/IMC/stepdown experience; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of total nursing experience including 1 year of PCU experience
• Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and measure cardiac rhythms (hard stop requirement)
• Must be comfortable caring for patients on BiPAP and high-flow oxygen (hard stop requirement)
• Proficiency with titratable drips: diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix
• Experience with Epic EMR

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with oncology patient populations (leukemia, neutropenia, etc.); chemo administration not required unless specified
• Spanish language proficiency given the high volume of Spanish-speaking patients
• Familiarity with PCI pre/post care, CHF, MI, AFib with RVR, NSTEMI, and chest pain management
• Experience in a non-profit community hospital or similar setting serving underserved populations
