We are currently seeking a skilled and self-directed Tube Mill Operator to join our production team. This role is responsible for the complete operation of a steel tube mill, including setup, adjustments, quality assurance, and leading tooling changeovers. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience, strong leadership, and a commitment to producing high-quality products that meet ASTM standards and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and oversee all aspects of the steel tube production process.
• Perform mill setup, machine adjustments, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Take a leadership role in directing other tube mill team members and supporting a productive, safe work environment.
• Perform and lead tooling changeovers with minimal supervision and according to company standards.
• Monitor and verify product quality to ensure compliance with ASTM standards and specific customer specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of machine settings, output, and any issues or deviations.
• Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA guidelines.
• Identify and resolve equipment and quality issues independently while maintaining production schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience operating a tube mill in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, production specifications, and quality standards.
• Solid understanding of ASTM standards and tube manufacturing processes.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to guide and support team members.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with steel tube production specifically.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement initiatives.
