Registered Dental Hygienist – Colchester, VT

Location: Colchester, VT

Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule

Monday–Thursday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

We are open to both full-time and part-time candidates and are happy to discuss a schedule that works well for the right hygienist.

Compensation

• $45–$55/hour , based on experience
• Annualized Base Compensation: Approximately $74,880–$114,400/year , depending on hourly rate and weekly hours
• Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our established dental practice in Colchester, Vermont.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist who values having the appropriate amount of time to provide thoughtful, high-quality patient care. Our hygiene department operates on a single-column schedule with a full hour dedicated to each hygiene appointment , allowing you to focus on your patient without the pressure of running between multiple chairs.

Additionally, all new patients are initially scheduled with the doctor for their comprehensive examination . If hygiene treatment is needed, patients are then scheduled for a separate hygiene visit. This means hygienists are not expected to complete a new-patient exam and cleaning within the same appointment.

We're looking for someone who enjoys developing long-term patient relationships and wants to be part of a collaborative practice where quality of care comes first.

Hygiene Model

• Single-column hygiene
• 60-minute hygiene appointments
• No double-booked hygiene schedule
• New patients are initially seen on the doctor's schedule
• New patients are reappointed separately for their hygiene visit
• Opportunity to focus on comprehensive preventive and periodontal care
• Collaborative relationship between hygiene and doctor teams

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal hygiene care
• Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, scaling and root planing, and other hygiene procedures within the scope of practice
• Complete periodontal assessments and oral cancer screenings
• Take diagnostic radiographs as clinically indicated
• Educate patients regarding oral hygiene, periodontal health, and preventive care
• Review and update patient medical and dental histories
• Maintain accurate and thorough clinical documentation
• Collaborate with doctors and clinical team members regarding patient treatment needs
• Follow appropriate infection control and clinical safety standards
• Help create a comfortable and positive experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Active Vermont Dental Hygienist license or eligibility to obtain Vermont licensure
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care
• Ability to work collaboratively with doctors and other members of the clinical team
• Dependable, professional, and interested in becoming part of a long-term practice team
