Assistant Quality Control Manager - Supply Chain (Cocoa, FL) Responsibilities Partnership Collaboration Possess knowledge of stakeholder identification, mapping, analysis, communication, engagement techniques, and management tools. Build, maintain, and enhance effective internal and external partnerships through demonstrated integrity. Quality Control Maintain inventory quality for food storage and processing. Participate in audits of product deliveries and stored products. Use all tools for audit information sharing, apply basic quality control techniques in food testing, and identify potential cold chain deviations. Handle quality problems such as raw material issues, perform quality control activities per organizational standards, and coach personnel on inspection tools and equipment. Food Safety Understand cold chain policies, sanitary and safe food handling practices, and personal protective equipment policies. Monitor and control food handling hazards, including cold chain management and cross‑contamination. Ensure team members wear appropriate PPE, maintain sanitary equipment and work areas, inform others about safe handling factors, and follow ServSafe standards and applicable regulations. Business Process Improvement Apply process improvement techniques, change management principles, and process analysis. Participate in defining organizational strategic goals, identify alternate solutions to outdated processes, and assess feasibility. Establish requirements for significant changes, evaluate financial, cultural, technological, and other factors, and recommend innovative approaches using advanced technology. Overcome resistance to change from managers, labor, and other groups. Influential Communication Use verbal and nonverbal business communication styles in ambiguous and challenging situations. Recognize emotional intelligence, situational awareness, and interpersonal skills. Lead discussions, present to diverse audiences, use data, and provide timely feedback. Remain a trusted advisor, influence action, and internalize feedback to improve. Data Digital Literacy Collect and analyze data using modes, techniques, and visualization tools. Apply data‑driven problem solving, ensure data quality, define benchmarks, and automate processes. Understand data science techniques and applications, consume reports, and use insights for business decisions. Warehouse Management Apply regulatory and reporting knowledge to warehouse KPIs and equipment maintenance. Perform basic warehousing activities (receiving, putting away, picking, packing, shipping). Translate business requirements for system specifications and support mechanization approaches in distribution centers. Maintain warehouse equipment, analyze KPIs, and document processes. Documentation and Data Collection Adhere to regulatory and reporting requirements for data auditing, retention, and record maintenance. Evaluate best practices, advise on advanced gathering methods, and implement procedures. Teach review and interpretation of reports and oversee documentation processes. Ripening Manage fruit ripening, color variation, quality, ordering, and scheduling. Coordinate conditioning of bananas, avocados, pears, and other produce. Forecast demand, schedule inbound/outbound deliveries, and educate associates on handling. Recognize climatic and geographical effects on fruit ripening criteria. Operational Excellence Use regulatory and reporting knowledge for SOP documentation. Resolve obstacles to organization goals, advise others, design awareness programs, and facilitate inter‑departmental communication. Recommend efficiencies, monitor policy adherence, and provide solutions to potential legal or regulatory issues. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Food Science, or related field OR 2 years of experience in food manufacturing or production quality control/assurance, food safety, or related field. Salary and Compensation The annual salary range for this position is $84,000.00 – $126,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses, Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location, and stock options.
