Field Service & Installation Technician - Label Applicator Systems

Summary

We are seeking a field service technician, machine assembler, and installer on our label application equipment - to become an integral part of our team! You will perform some assembly tasks as needed to complete machine prep for installation as well installation of these small machines and identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency. Our equipment is installed onto Customers/OEM Vertical form fill sealing machines.

We are located at 35 Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, IL 60070

Responsibilities:

• Install, commission, and support label applicator systems at customer facilities.
• Travel domestically and internationally as required.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Interpret engineering, electrical, and pneumatic schematics.
• Assist with electrical wiring and system integration.
• Test, validate, and prepare equipment for shipment and verify proper operation following installation.
• Provide technical support and customer training.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve field issues.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives based on field feedback.
• Conduct quality inspections and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with production and assembly activities as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

• Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or related technical fields with strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills.
• Electrical, mechanical, and basic PLC knowledge required, including wiring, troubleshooting, and understanding of automation systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience installing or servicing packaging or automation equipment preferred.
• Ability to handle physical workload and perform in fast-paced environments, independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and passport required with ability to travel extensively.
