About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: - Experience with PCU ratios of 1:5 - Cardiac telemetry experience - Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias - Peripheral line care and management - PICC line management - Ability to titrate drips Description: Position involves working 3 shifts of 12 hours each on days. Rotation for weekends and holidays is required. No call duty is expected. Travelers may be floated between facilities if needed. The unit functions at a high level with multiple long-term patients. Charge nurse experience is preferred. Charting experience, particularly with a specific system, is preferred. Staffing may include interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and social services. The patient demographic includes adults with various diagnoses. Primary cases involve stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders. All beds are monitored for cardiac telemetry. Travelers must be prepared for a compliance EKG exam and meet all necessary training modules. Candidates must have strong skills in managing advanced cardiac monitoring equipment and protocols. Flexibility is essential as staffing needs may require floating to different units within the network.
