Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll Do:Plan, set up, perform, and coordinate the quality activities for the assigned employee groupsDirect assigned group in the quality setup and operation of equipment with regard to quality specifications, quantity, proper sequence and production standardsDetermine best set-ups for optimum use of equipment and manpower while minimizing waste and production delaysWork from production schedules, stock needed reports, fab shop needs/request and/or verbal instructionsWork with computer programs such as, but not limited to, Fab G, Epoxy Production System, Load Sheets, Daily Hours, E-mail and other excel & word documentsPerform all quality related functions for the location such as Tests, Inspections (Internal & External), Reports, Set-ups, Filing, etc.Compare test results to material specificationsCoordinates with operational departments to support process qualityMaintains traceability of all test materialsMonitors the production process and collects hot-rolled steel samples as neededPerforms calibration verification on test equipmentPerforms physical and dimensional tests on steel samplesUses both computer-controlled and manual tools and equipmentWhat You'll Need:Good Organizational and Leadership skillsAbility to work a flexible scheduleOperate a computer proficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)Maintains lab equipment and a clean, organized workspaceComprehends and applies standards, procedures, and work instructionsStrong ability to recall specifics, methods, and processesProficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, email platforms, and digital recordkeeping systemsFollow supervisory or managerial instructions in a timely and safe mannerAbility to use measuring devices including tape measures, micrometers, and inside/outside calipersAble to stand for up to 12 hours and perform frequent physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, and reaching to work with equipment throughout the shiftYour Education:High School Diploma or GED requiredWe are CMC, a Fortune 500® company at the leading edge of our industry.
