Job Overview

Nic + Junior's is seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The Line Cook will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced, fine-dining environment. This position requires attention to detail, a passion for gastronomy, and the ability to collaborate with the team to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests.

Main Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare menu items according to established recipes and specifications, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Workstation Management: Organize and stock the station with necessary ingredients and supplies. Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout service.
• Cooking: Execute cooking techniques with precision, including grilling, sautéing, frying, and plating dishes with excellence.
• Quality Control: Monitor food presentation and portion sizes to meet restaurant standards.
• Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, ensuring proper food handling and kitchen cleanliness.
• Teamwork: Collaborate closely with the rest of the kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and smooth operations during shifts.
• Inventory and Supply: Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating ingredients. Report any shortages or supply-related issues to the chef or kitchen manager.
• Adaptability: Be willing to assist with other kitchen tasks as needed, including prep and cleanup.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience in a high-volume or fine dining environment. Solid knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Positive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Culinary school training is an asset but not required. Possess or be willing to obtain ServSafe certification before the start date of employment.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
