Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Blood and Marrow Transplantation (BMT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years oncology experience License: Must hold a valid BCLS license Certifications: BLS, Chemo Administration (ONS/ONCC) Must-Have: Experience with patient ratios of 1:3 to 1:5 Proficient in using EPIC charting system Description: This position is for a nursing professional in a 30-bed unit specializing in blood and marrow transplantation. The role involves providing adult inpatient care for patients undergoing this specialized treatment. Registered Nurses will participate in meeting the complex care requirements of this patient population. Travelers with prior patient ratio experience of 1:3 or 1:4 are preferred, but those with ratios of 1:5 may also be considered. The manager will determine the best fit for the nurse within the specified medical units. Float between similar units may be required as part of the role. Nurses are expected to manage various clinical tasks including but not limited to accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and monitoring for side effects. Candidates should have experience in acute symptom management and patient education and support. The unit works collaboratively with various interdisciplinary support teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Travelers are required to comply with hospital policies and have completed necessary training modules prior to employment.
