Washco Management is a respected family-owned company seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting & HR Manager to oversee the financial and human resources functions of our hospitality division, which includes a cannabis dispensary and brewery . This position plays a critical role in supporting daily operations, financial performance, and workforce management while partnering with leadership to ensure organizational success.

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across a diverse business portfolio.

Position Summary

The Accounting & HR Manager will be responsible for managing the accounting operations of Washco Management's hospitality division while supporting human resources functions across all four Washco business divisions. This role requires a hands-on professional with experience in accounting, payroll, financial reporting, and employee administration who can effectively oversee outsourced service providers and provide guidance to support teams.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

• Manage all accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Process and oversee payroll administration.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
• Support year-end audits and tax preparation activities.
• Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.

Human Resources

• Support HR operations across Washco Management's four business divisions.
• Manage employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel records.
• Administer employee benefits and assist with open enrollment processes.
• Maintain HR compliance and employment documentation.
• Assist with employee relations matters and policy administration.
• Coordinate payroll-related HR functions.
• Support recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.

Leadership & Operations

• Oversee outsourced accounting, payroll, and HR service providers.
• Provide guidance and support to internal and external teams.
• Develop, improve, and maintain accounting and HR processes.
• Collaborate with company leadership to achieve operational and financial objectives.
• Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field OR
• Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience in a professional business environment.

 

• Strong knowledge of:
• • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Payroll Processing
  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Financial Statement Preparation
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Account Reconciliations
  • Human Resources Administration
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Yardi software.
• Knowledge of the cannabis industry and related compliance requirements.
• Experience in hospitality, brewery, retail, or other regulated industries.
• Experience managing outsourced accounting, payroll, or HR providers.
