Position SummaryUnder general supervision, the Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Macon County General Hospital. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the health care team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements and coordinates treatment plans for the patient’s medical condition. The RN acts as a Charge Nurse or Staff Nurse.II. Position Requirements:A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current registered Nursing License in the State of Tennessee.B. Education: Graduate of an approved school of nursing.C. Experience: One (1) year experience in acute care, or skilled nursing facility preferred.D. Special qualifications: Current licensure in the State of Tennessee as a Registered Nurse. BLS – health care provider. Good communication skills, both orally and written. Some computer knowledge would be helpful. Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care. Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Pediatric Advanced Life Support.III. Degree of Supervision Required: Involves general guidance by Supervisors and/or Department Manager. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.IV. Ages of Patients Served:This position requires competence in assessment, treatment, and/or care for the age groups indicated. The staff member must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned service area.
