Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Austin, Texas.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Labor and Delivery\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: ASAP\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 36 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs\n Hours: 36 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Aug 31, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift contract role requiring high-risk OB experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification.Details\n \n Labor and Delivery unit with 12 LDR beds, 5 antepartum beds, 4 OB-ED beds, and 3 OR rooms\n Unit staffed with charge nurses, RNs, CSTs, and schedulers on both day and night shifts\n Patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1 based on transition and acuity\n Performs procedures including C-sections, SVD, D&C, D&E, twin deliveries, emergent C-hysterectomy, and massive transfusion cases\n Uses Alaris pumps and CADD epidural pumps\n Charts in CPN and Meditech EMR systems\n 12-hour night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)\n Requires 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period\n No call requirements\n Self-scheduling model shared among team members\n Requirements\n \n Active TX or compact RN license required\n Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Advanced 9th Edition) certifications required\n Current Advanced EFM or AWHONN Intermediate/Advanced EFM certification required\n CPI certification required\n Minimum 2 years of experience in High Risk OB required; 3+ years preferred\n Experience with massive transfusion and PASD (placenta accreta spectrum disorders) preferred\n No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months\n US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)\n One professional reference required\n Additional Information\n \n Provide direct patient care in a high-risk OB Labor and Delivery setting\n Level II Trauma ED serving obstetrical patients with Level I and II injuries\n Maternal Designation Level III and Neonatal Level II, both advancing to next accreditation steps\n Joint Commission accredited in Women's Services\n Highly engaged, team-oriented staff with a mix of tenured and newer nurses\n Active physician engagement and strong staff relations\n Management team regularly rounds on night shift and weekend teams\n Sky blue scrubs required for CST staff\n Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-742745.
