Salary: The City of New York Office of the Mayor's compensation package includes a market competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits. Our cash compensation range for this role is $75,000 – $85,000. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on candidate experience and expertise, and other factors.

The Agency You'll Join: The NYC Mayor's Office of Equity & Racial Justice (MOERJ) was established in October 2023 as the City of New York's centralized agency to advance equity. Our mandate is rooted in a simple but powerful belief that every New Yorker deserves the chance to live, work, and thrive with dignity. To realize that vision, MOERJ brings together several key initiatives and offices, including the NYC Commission on Gender Equity (CGE), NYC Her Future (NHF), the NYC Young Men's Initiative (YMI), and the NYC Unity Project (UP), as well as cross-agency bodies like the NYC Pay Equity Cabinet (PEC) and the NYC Taskforce on Racial Inclusion & Equity (TRIE). As a critical part of the mayor's efforts to build a stronger and healthier city, MOERJ works across city agencies and external partners to affect meaningful changes. The Team You'll Work With: You will join NYC Her Future's Programs and Strategic Partnerships team, working at the center of a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment that spans multiple City agencies, community partners, and stakeholders. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Programs & Strategic Partnerships, serving as a key thought partner and operational lead across the office's growing portfolio. From flagship initiatives like STEAM workforce grants and public safety partnerships to maternal health and economic mobility pilots, you will help drive the execution, coordination, and visibility of work that reaches tens of thousands of young people across New York City. You will work closely with internal leadership, agency partners (DOE, DYCD, NYPD, CUNY, and others), and external stakeholders to move initiatives from concept to implementation, ensuring alignment, accountability, and impact at every stage.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Graduation from an accredited college with a baccalaureate degree; or 2. Graduation from an accredited community college plus two years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities; or 3. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus four years of experience as described in "2" above; or 4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Skills

Skills & Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (public policy, business, communications, or related) - Experience in program or project management, preferably in government, nonprofit, or social impact spaces - Strong organizational and operational skills, you can manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting executive-level materials - Ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments with professionalism and clarity - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solutions-oriented mindset - Familiarity with data tracking, reporting, and performance management - Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments - A genuine commitment to advancing equity and improving outcomes for young women and girls

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
