Manufacturing Associate
As a Manufacturing Associate, you work with small rubber components to support the production of high-quality seals used primarily in aerospace applications. You perform hands-on tasks such as trimming, inspecting, gluing, and molding parts while operating machinery in a clean, safe, and organized manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Trim excess rubber from small parts to ensure each component meets quality and dimensional standards.
- Inspect parts carefully for defects and remove or report any nonconforming products.
- Apply glue into grooves of parts using small brushes, maintaining precision and consistency.
- Perform molding operations on rubber components according to established procedures.
- Use hand tools and basic production equipment safely and correctly during daily tasks.
- Operate machinery as directed, following all safety and operating guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
- Follow production instructions and work orders to meet schedule and output requirements.
- Stand or sit for extended periods while performing repetitive production tasks.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues with parts, equipment, or processes to the appropriate personnel.
Essential Skills
- Approximately 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred, especially in general production or small parts work.
- Strong attention to detail when trimming, inspecting, and gluing parts.
- Ability to work with small parts and perform fine, hands-on tasks accurately.
- Experience using hand tools in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Ability to operate machinery safely and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Capability to stand or sit for long periods of time while performing repetitive tasks.
- Reliability in following safety procedures and maintaining product quality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labor or general production environments.
- Familiarity with molding processes or rubber manufacturing is a plus.
- Comfort working in a large, open manufacturing facility with multiple departments such as machine shop, molding, bonding, and warehouse.
- Willingness to learn new equipment and processes within a structured production setting.

Work Environment
This role is based in a large, open manufacturing facility that produces rubber seals primarily for aerospace use. The site includes a machine shop, molding area, bonding area with machine presses, and warehouse operations. The environment is described as very safe and clean, with well-organized work areas. There are multiple shifts, with 2 and potentially 3 openings on 1st shift, which runs from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You work with small parts, hand tools, molding equipment, bonding presses, and other production machinery. The position requires standing or sitting for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks in a structured, production-focused setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
