Job Title: Industrial Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Industrial Technician to join our team in a dynamic and demanding refinery environment. This role involves working with various industrial equipment to ensure efficient operation and maintenance, as well as adhering to safety standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor valves to fill tanks and prevent overflow.
• Follow hoses to ensure no spills of hazardous waste.
• Clean out sludge to maintain the flow of waste to the recycler.
• Monitor pressure gauges to verify proper transfer.
• Set up pumps and pull oil samples.
• Troubleshoot pump breakdowns and resolve transfer issues by changing out hoses.
• Transfer fluids between departments.
• Operate and monitor electrical frac tanks and mixers with specific dilution percentages.
• Restart and change out panels when necessary.
• Utilize tools such as sawzalls and saws, and handle hydric pumps and filters.
• Pump out tanks and transfer contents to other units.
• Track certain percentages and operational parameters.
• Operate pumps, generators, and other equipment.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and document maintenance activities.

Essential Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC Card, which requires a thorough check.
• Capability to perform physical work and general labor tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a refinery is preferred.
• An active TWIC Card is advantageous.

Work Environment

You will work inside the CITGO refinery in Lemont, a heavy industrial setting that can become quite hot during the summer months. The role requires working Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Our company is a privately held Indiana corporation, established in 1981, and we operate across three divisions: Steel Processing, Refinery Processing, and Specialty Chemicals.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Romeoville, IL.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
