About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its Executive Team and lead the transformation of the organization's operational efficiency. The COO will be responsible for the business operations, facilities management, earned revenue, and safety, with a future focus on overseeing animal and veterinary services. This role demands a dynamic and trusted leader with a strategic, engaged, and mission-driven approach. The successful candidate will be tasked with providing forward-thinking operational strategy, supervising multi-departmental directors, and managing business and operational protocols to ensure the organization's goals are met. The ideal COO will have a proven track record in operational leadership, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to build and execute ambitious strategies while maintaining operational excellence. Applicants for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field, with a preference for an advanced degree. A minimum of 10 years' experience in a comparable role is required, and a background in a zoo, aquarium, or theme park is beneficial. The role demands a leader with high emotional intelligence, excellent communication, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. The COO will be expected to be a strategic thinker, with a strong focus on driving revenue and optimizing guest operations. While direct experience in a zoo or aquarium is not mandatory, a passion for animal welfare, education, and environmental conservation is essential.
