The Role The candidate should have 2+ years of blaster experience operating blast equipment used to create a profile on steel structures that will allow coating treatment to adhere properly to metal surfaces. The candidate will be trained in the safe operation of blast equipment, and will learn to perform blast operations in tanks, voids, staging areas, scaffolding, and lifting equipment such as JLG and scissors lift equipment. Newport News Shipbuilding is seeking qualified blasters with hands‑on blasting work experience.
