At our Westminster, MD 21157 facility, we’re on a mission to deliver precision at scale. We’re seeking a leader who blends technical depth with people-first management to run a modern machine shop and elevate performance across safety, quality, cost, and delivery.

Your mission

• Run the shop with clarity—plan schedules, balance loads, and allocate resources to meet demand.
• Develop talent—coach machinists/technicians, nurture a positive, high-ownership culture.
• Protect people—embed safety protocols and maintain a clean, compliant environment.
• Raise the bar—track quality, tackle nonconformances, and implement continuous improvements.
• Shorten cycles—partner with engineering/production to optimize programs, setups, and flows.
• Keep machines ready—oversee preventive maintenance and ensure equipment readiness.
• Inform decisions—publish reports on output, KPIs, performance, and asset status.
• Grow capabilities—deliver structured onboarding and ongoing training.

What sets you up for success

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Manufacturing (preferred). Without a degree, a minimum of 5 years’ supervisory or management experience in a machine shop is required.
• Solid command of machining methods, tooling, and equipment.
• Demonstrated leadership with strong team-building skills.
• Fluency in reading technical drawings and specifications.
• Sharp problem-solving, keen attention to detail, and effective communication.
• Competence with manufacturing/production management software.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality frameworks.

Scenario

A 5-axis UMC queue is backing up. You analyze KPIs, split work across a Matsuura and a horizontal cell, adjust setups in Mastercam/Mazatrol, and coach the team through a revised plan—improving throughput without compromising accuracy or safety.
