Open Date: 4/29/2024 Location: Sandler Nonwoven Corporation Category: Quality Control Position: Quality Assurance Technician Quality Assurance Technician - Night Shift Purpose Responsible for supporting the effective and professional management of all quality functions. Facilitate the efficient production of quality products and services; to meet customer specifications and internal quality initiatives. Responsibilities Prepare samples according to specifications for specific tests Perform sample analysis; including testing of technical parameters such as basis weight, tensile strength, and elongation Complete incoming goods inspections according to quality guidelines Release incoming goods that meet quality specifications Inspect finished products for quality characteristics, as outlined by customer specifications Develop product specifications Assist in the handling of complaints using the appropriate QMS documentation Evaluate Certificates of Analysis (CoA's) and Statistical Process Control Complete work using the Internal Material Data System (IMDS) Develop test reports for initial production of new articles Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to develop initial sample reports Manage Technical Data Sheets Create Quality Assurance Agreements Manage laboratory cooperation Create and explain quality fact sheets Qualify new raw materials and supplies Carry out validation procedures Perform daily inspections for quality throughout the facility Inspect finished goods (dimensions, winding, etc.) Compare finished goods to reference sample Assist with the handling of complaints regarding finished goods Assist with the handling of complaints regarding fibers and other raw or auxiliary materials Manual inspection of labelling, packaging, and finished goods storage in the warehouse Issue reports regarding defects Monitor and evaluate initial production runs and test runs of new materials Perform hygiene and safety inspections throughout all areas of the company Develop procedures to enforce hygiene standards Maintain adherence to hygiene regulations of inbound and outbound trucks Monitor participation of staff members' participation in mandatory trainings Monitor health and safety in the workplace Ensure that the QMS conforms to ISO 9001:2015 Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes Report to Top Management on the performance of the QMS; on opportunities for improvement; on change requirements; on innovations Ensure the promotion of customer focus Ensure the integrity of the QMS is maintained Enforce workplace safety standards among Quality Assurance personnel Safety standards must be in compliance with company policy, OSHA, and Workers Compensation Maintain a hygienic work environment; supporting company and customer standards Other special projects, as assigned Qualifications Expertise in Microsoft Office applications and SAP or other ERP system Experience working in quality control/quality management Experience working as a lab technician Experience in audits and certifications Mathematical expertise Able to work independently Experience in working with nonwovens and fibers Knowledge of safe work practices and OSHA standards Hands‑on mentality Willing and able to obtain additional qualifications and training Meticulous focus on quality standards and fulfillment of customer expectations Understanding of quality management systems Willingness and commitment to permanently locate in the greater Macon, Georgia area Employment Type: Full‑Time (Non‑Exempt) This position is currently accepting applications. #J-18808-Ljbffr
