Mainframe IMS
Immediate need for a talented Mainframe IMS. This is a 12 months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Chandler, AZ, Plano, TX and Jacksonville, FL (Hybrid).
Pay Range: $65 - $73/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, security, and performance of IMS databases, ensuring they support business applications and data needs.
- Responsibilities include backup and recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Will also collaborate with developers and other teams to implement new features and ensure smooth database operations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
- Key Skills: IMS, Z/OS, Mainframe
- Strong understanding of IMS concepts, including hierarchical databases, DL/I calls, and related utilities.
- Experience with z/OS operating system, JCL, TSO/ISPF, and other mainframe tools.
- Proficiency in using Client IMS utilities and vendor-supplied utilities for database management
